Privacy & your data
Street first, house optional
Street-only signups show a count, not a house location. We do not collect your name, email, or children's information. A house number is published only when you enter it and agree to share it.
One home per network
We store a one-way, keyed network identifier to limit repeat signups for Halloween 2026. We do not store your raw IP address in our signup database. People on the same Wi-Fi share the limit. A changed network can bypass it; this is spam protection, not proof of residency.
You're in control
A private management key stays in your browser so you can update or withdraw your signup on this device. Clearing browser storage loses that key. Withdrawing immediately removes your house number and location; a network claim remains to prevent repeat signups.
Website analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand visits, traffic sources, and actions such as viewing the map or adding a home. Analytics may use cookies. We do not send house numbers, street search text, exact map locations, or your management key to Google Analytics. Advertising personalization is disabled.
Map data
Streets, the city boundary, and optional address verification use public City of Plano GIS data. An address lookup sends the entered house number and street to the City's GIS service. The map does not track your location; the location button uses it only when you ask.
